New Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy takes us up to 2020

The new strategy hopes to build on the work already done by all involved; challenging the deep-rooted social norms, attitudes and behaviours that discriminate against and limit women and girls, and by educating, informing and challenging young people about healthy relationships, abuse and consent.

For example it calls for services to make partnership working and early intervention and prevention a priority, identifying and intervening with those in need before a crisis occurs, to ensure women and girls will be able to access the support they need, where and when they need it. It also calls for specialist support, including accommodation-based support, to be available for vulnerable victims, and those with complex needs.
