The Freedom Programme

The Freedom Programme is a nationally recognised programme that has been designed to help any woman who has been a victim of or is affected by domestic abuse.

The programme aims to help women identify abusive behaviours and beliefs held by their abusive partners and aims to help them to rebuild their self esteem and self confidence and ultimately move on from an abusive relationship. It also provides a powerful insight into how domestic abuse affects children and young people.

The Freedom Programme is a rolling 12 week programme which women can join at any time and it is FREE to attend.

The Freedom Programme is delivered by trained facilitators at various locations and in several different languages across Luton. To find out more or to book a place please contact one of the organisations shown below.

The programme does not provide individual support or counselling but it does hope to empower those who attend to move on to abuse free lives and also allows them to meet and make friends who have similar experiences.

There is an on-line Freedom Programme which is suitable for both men and women. To find out more about the on-line course follow this link.

Luton All Women's Centre also offers their Our Lives programme which is delivered in both Urdu and Bengali for women who have or are experiencing Domestic Abuse. The programme is similar to the Freedom programme as it explores the abusive tactics and the impact that domestic abuse has on both women and children. Our Lives has been created to be culturally appropriate for South Asian women. The programme explores issues and cultural practices that are relevant to these women which in turn encourages their engagement into the programme. The programme is a 6 week programme and will explore Domestic Abuse, Forced Marriage and Honour Based Violence and the impact of abuse on women and children.
